Director : Maria Luisa (Maisa) Mendon

Maisa co-authored the book on Benedita with Medea Benjamin and Benedita herself. Maisa has won many awards in the US, Canada and Latin America for her films. She has been a resident artist at the Banff Center for the Arts and a recipient of the Film Arts Foundation Grants Program and the Soros Documentary Fund. Her film Indonesia, One Struggle, One Change is being used nationally by colleges and organizations working for democracy in Indonesia. She is now finishing Raiz Forte, a documentary on Brazil's Rural Landless Workers Movement.
